On The Battlefield
By: Wome
Honour the battlefield that dark, ugly place,
Drawing the sword I play that ace,
Courage on the battlefield, that painful vision,
Unfaltering I continue the mission,
Strength on the battlefield, dismal graveyard,
I am a soldier a pawn, I must fight hard.
Blood on the battlefield, the rose of war,
I am alone, the last, I cannot fight any more,
Pain on the battlefield, screaming souls,
The banshee in the night; those empty holes,
Trenches on the battlefield, united fear,
For my children my wife, I shed a tear.
Together on the battlefield, another fight,
But we are not alone, our flames unite,
Fire on the battlefield, burning will,
Shining sword in his heart; another kill,
Friends on the battlefield, together again,
Another loss returning excruciating pain.
Shame on the battlefield, casualty list,
Frightened I hide, yet I clench my fist,
Control on the battlefield, empowering rage,
We are but actors on this faraway stage,
Loss on the battlefield, death a last,
I choke my last breath and, my weapon I cast.
