i never thought my music

which seemed so instrumental

during the developmental

stages of our relationship

could tear us apart leaving

me here with a broken heart

and one streaming tear that has packed

it's bags and not looking back

reaching my lips with such haste

yet upon arrival has lost the salty taste

of every other tear i've cried

every truth has become a lie; just as every breath

become a sigh; every dream a nightmare
