Eyes
By: jade
faces on the wall
from a father's eyes
the faded copy, weathered by an invisible enemy
slowly the eyes decay, their shine washed away
eaten, a white field mouse in and autumn brown meadow
uncovered by the passing breeze
while withered eyes well up
light intensified in their gaze
frozen, a goldfish in an Alaskan pond
fixated beyond the surface
black blood oozing,
seeping, an oil spill, a white sand beach
whose tide is coming in, every wave
slowly, steadily, carries it's own death.
