My daddy closed his eyes

And went away alone

As I held his cold hand

I begged him not to go

But god took him anyway

Now tears rush down my face

With a whisper of love,

I kiss daddys cold face

Praying it wasn't true,

What else could I do

There was so much left unsaid

For life had been unfair

And I'll never understand

Why my daddy had to go.

Now its been a long time

Since my daddy went away,

I'm learning to accept it

Because I can't change it

But I'll never say daddy's dead,

He's just gone on a journey in the sky,

To an everlasting life

Though the pain is still here

And the tears will never end

Until we meet again,

Daddy's alive within me.
