The Sparkle
By: ladyhawk
I was alone, and lonely.
As a drinking glass, tall and slender,
I rested on the bench, plain in shape but
Never the less all in tact.
I needed something to hold.
I needed something to share.
A pitcher of water was brought toward me.
The water glistened fresh and clean, like
a smile.
The pitcher was tilted and the water flowed
into me and splashed happily inside my body.
At that instant, as the water flowed, the sun's
warm light bounded in through the window,
causing a sparkle on both the pitcher's rim
and mine.
The sprakle glowed strong, then was gone, but
leaving a very special everlasting warmth,
like love.
The pouring ceased. I was almost full to the
brim and yet some more water still remained in the
pitcher.
Together we sat, side by side, sharing our
watery caress.
