Tip Toe
By: Aristeia
Creep down the stairs
soft kisses brush oak
Through the hall
gliding past orange yellow petaled wall
Careful not to wake
silently tip toe
Or make
hush, against the icy window pane
The lady that sleeps
press the pane, swallow the salt
Over the steely grey mats
float past frozen eyes
And by the creepy little rats
lean ‘gainst the leather arms
Reach for cloak and blade
hold fast against bleeding heart
Turn once, twice, thrice
feel the charge pulse
Step out, catch breath and balance
freedom, to tip toe no more
